We're renting out a furnished bedroom in our house in the redwoods, between Felton and UCSC. It's pretty sweet, and it's ready for you to live comfortably on day one — perfect for a grad student, a travel nurse, and the like.

The furnished bedroom suite: an open room with a bed, a kitchenette island with seating, a wall-mounted TV, a wardrobe, and a papasan chair.

The kitchenette and private entrance: green cabinets, a sink under the window, an induction cooktop, a microwave + air fryer, and a mini-fridge. The exterior door opens to the redwoods and parking. The interior door opens to the bathroom.

The ground-floor bathroom: antimicrobial tile floor, a full-size washer+dryer (2.5 hours wash+dry combined), toilet, and a tiled walk-in shower.

Costs

Rent: $1,700/month, including utilities
Pet rent: $50/month pet rent (for a dog)
EV charging: Reimbursement for your actual use of the EV charger
Deposit: $1,700 deposit (one-time)
Screening fee: $50 screening fee — charged only if we mutually agree to proceed

The household

We're a family of five, plus a big low-key dog, and we live upstairs. We value democracy, human rights, climate solutions, pandemic solutions, science, and basic human decency.

Pets

Pets are possible. Probably yes to a well-cared-for dog, fish, reptile, or bird. Definitely no cats, due to a severe household allergy.

Good to know

Sound carries within the house more than we'd like, and we have a preschooler, so quiet hours are 9 PM to 7 AM. During quiet hours, please use headphones for music, movies, and the like.
The downstairs bathroom is primarily yours and secondarily the household's. You can set hours when it's exclusively yours (e.g. so our teenagers don't use it while you're getting ready for class or work). The bathroom has two lockable doors - one to the outside, and the other to the bedroom.
There is no street parking, nor any nearby. If you need more than 1 dedicated space plus 1 guest space, this isn't the right fit.
The bathroom ceiling is low; if you're under 6 feet tall, you'll be fine.
No smoking, no substance abuse, and no jerks, please.
